Richard Quintana

Founder, Creator and Inventor

Quintana started his career as a systems design engineer, working in this field for 20 years. He also has been involved in health care management and assisted living facility operation.

It was a large water leakage incident that Quintana witnessed which convinced him of the need to be able to better detect toilet tank overflows.

“H 2 ORB is the kind of product that home- and business-owners, as well as managers of public facilities, need in order to stop damaging water leaks that waste thousands of gallons of water, in addition to the hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars in increased water bills as well as the related costs to repair damage from overflows and leaks,” Quintana noted.

Indeed, Quintana sees the resourcefulness of H 2 Orb as a threefold process:

•  Monitoring water flow and detecting and ultimately stopping overflows and leaks

•  Water conservation

•  Insurance policy protection

“Water levels are supposed to remain fairly level in a normally functioning toilet,” Quintana declared. “But with a leaking toilet or one that has become stuck, water levels may change and rise rapidly. The art is detecting the problem, and catching it before an overflow occurs, or when a leak has begun. H 2 Orb will turn off the water flow, thus stopping the water from leaking, or rising to the point of overflow, and then notify the resident of the problem so he or she can correct it.”

Quintana has spent the last six years developing and refining H 2 Orb, and has conducted a number of beta tests to determine its reliability and performance.
