Save water. Save the planet.
In the time it takes you to read these few short paragraphs, a single stuck open flapper in a toilet just wasted about 10 gallons of fresh drinking water[i]. An unmonitored shower head left wide open until the water got warm, 12 gallons[ii]. A broken sprinkler valve, 20 gallons[iii]. Add to that the energy wasted to pump in, treat on the way out, or to clean up the river where the street drain left it. That’s only if you turn them off when you’re done reading.
Today, a single faucet dripped another 5-20 gallons at one, tiny drip every 1-5 seconds. Drip, drip... 128 million households. Countless offices, factories, hospitals, universities, hotels. Drip, drip... Certainly not enough to worry about. 1 million, 5 million, 10 million gallons per day? Trillions per year? (Note: The Hoover dam has a maximum flow of 299,200 gallons per day, leaky toilets waste about 7,000,000,000 gallons per day. And, yes, the zeros are right.) DRIP, DRIP...
219 million adults in the US. Another 82 million or so children.[iv] all wasting water which equates to estimated tens of billions of gallons of drinking water that goes into the sewers systems monthly. At least once this week, you saw this, heard this, experienced or caused this and probably did nothing about this; until now. But your busy, we understand.
Actually, we don't. It directly affects you, financially in the short term and likely life style in the long term. But that's why we're here.

[i] At 2.5 gallons per minute for 4 miutes. That's 1200 gallons per 8 hour work day.
[ii] 3 gallons per minute x 4 minutes. Twice a day, every day = 8700 gallons per year, one person.
[iii] 20 minute cycle time equals 100 gallons per day. 3 times per week water schedule is 15,600 gal/yr.
